Default Am I too Weak Here

Final 30 in 500 person Tourney
Hero: KJo in MP2
Blinds: 750-1500
Stack: 12,000
Average Stack: 12,000
Table is tight, many stalling to dodge blinds.

Hand:
Hero raises to 4,000 (too loose?)
CO calls (stack= 22,000), SB calls (Stack= 16,000)

Flop: A,8,9 rainbow
SB checks, Hero ??? (I checked), CO bets 5,000, SB folds, hero folds.

The fact that CO, a normally aggressive player, only called made me believe he has some kind of monster. The fact that I was up against two people made me reluctant to bluff the ace. Then again, there was 12,000 in the pot and I only had 8,000 in chips left. Should I bluff at this pot???

Why put in 1/3 of your stack with KJo.
This position is much easier than u made it.. all in or fold preflop.
Blinds are too expensive to try and play fancy, same goes for middle and low pairs.
You have, with 12k, just... and I mean just enough to make a call all in expensive for the higher chip stacks. Thats your edge. You gave that away with the bet. Now with 8k your a cheap target.
As to the check fold .. that was the only thing u could do and stay in the torney. One of the other two is bound to have an Ace or atleast a pair, wouldnt be suprised to see u up against 2 pair with that flop.
Betting 3 or 4x the BB at this point in the torney is a move for the large stacks who can back it up.
