Default How many Final Tables did you make before your first win?

I've made 7 final tables and have yet to get a win. I have two 2nds and a 3rd. Last night I just missed a FT on pokerstars $30+3 tourney.

Took me 3 final tables before my first win, but I play an aggressive style that either puts me out or puts me among chipleaders from my short experience so far. It'll come. That's what I kept telling myself, and it eventually did.

I won the first tourney I ever played. A 3+0 PLO/8 on UB.

Hey,

I got a 2nd, 3rd,4th,5th,7th and 10th place finishes all on Party MTT's but no win yet. I don't know if it's bad play or bad luck that has held me back so far, maybe a lil bit of both. If your looking for advice, playing SitnGo's is good training for final table with the large blinds compared to stack sizes, (at the later stages of course, not initially.)

I wonder if it would help to start playing some SNGs on the side, to get used to final table play. There are a lot of things about SNGs which are very different than an MTT FT, but I think you would benefit from just the experience of playing shorthanded and heads up.

I won the first final table I made. The $10+1 Stars at 3:15. Every final table since has been somewhat less exciting.

I had about 10 final tables (2 2nds) before my first win. Since then I've won 4 multis over about 20 final tables. Once you get the first one, your confidence will go up and you'll start winning more. I haven't played any SnGs mainly because I don't think the blind structure is very good at recreating a final table. This is becuase everyone starts with the same amount of chips and too many BBs. Then, you only play about 10 hands at a certain level and soon it's a crapshoot. It probably wouldn't hurt though. Good luck in the future.

I've started to play lots of MTT's lately, though am mostly an SNG player.

I haven't won, but have made 3 finals in about 15 tournies, with 2nd, 6th, and 7th, and an insane ROI (can you spell v a r i a n c e ;-)

My second came after getting HU where at one point I had a 3:1 chip advantage. I am usually quite good HU in party SNGs, but here it is way different. At party, you're in push fold, or maybe cheap flop push/fold every hand in SNG's, whereas here, I end up with 300k in chips and a BB of 10k. We played HU for 40 minutes before I lost, and while I think I played better, I was really feeling out of my element.

My SNG play helps me most I find during shrink down to FT from 2-3 tables when it gets tight, and very push/fold.

my 02.
