Excellent answer Perg.

I was looking for a way to simplify FE calculations and thought counting a fold as an "out" might approximate the long math in some instances. Especially during bubble play. Thanks!

A fold is not an out in the same sense as the cards left in the deck are outs.

I belive what you speak of is also known as Fold Equity, as I am sure others have pointed out above (Havent read any replies yet).

It can make sense to count your semibluff as an extra out or two in limit because it can make the math easier to do at the table and it can be a reasonable approximation of your equity including FE. Probably not in NL.
