This actually sounds like perfect head-up strategy being implemented at a short table.

Consequently, when the table gets real short 2,3,4 players he is probably really not too far out of line at all with the kamikaze wildman stuff.

Ask him if he likes head-up play and see what he says.

A guy did this at Commerce $9-18 Friday night. He bought in for a grand(almost 60BB). In less than an hour he was ahead over 3 racks(more than $1000). He went more than 5 bets heads up several times, caught a few, already had the winner in a few. It was amazing the way he had the asian players at the table reacting to him. A couple of them were going 7-8 bets on the turn with top pair only. He lost some steam, but still cashed out over $600 ahead.
