Default Poker on semester at sea

Im going on this program called semester at sea this Fall and yes I know it's going to be an incredible opportunity to intereact with different cultures and communities but I know that I will also want to find a little bit of time to explore some international card rooms/ casinos if they exist. Here is a list of places we'll be docking, just looking for any advice on these places...Thanks for your help

Nassau, Bahamas
La Guaira, Venezuela
Salvador, Brazil
Cape Town, South Africa
Mombasa, Kenya
Chennai, India
Yangon, Myanmar
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Hong Kong
Kobe, Japan
Honolulu, Hawaii
San Diego, CA

Obviously im not planning to spend that much of my time in local casinos I just think it's cool to see them, I also collect chips so I'll be trying to add to my collection.

lol now this is taking poker to another level. my school also has these study abroad programs but i had never thought about playing poker at the destenations, quite a good idea.

however, i doubt most of these places have poker rooms. i don't even think most of these places will know wtf hold'em is.

about san diego: assuming you are under 21, there is viejas, barona, and sycuan. all have pretty good poker rooms, with viejs being the best imo. over 21, there is oceans 11 in oceanside(slightly north of SD). however even if you are under 21, you can still play at oceans, just go through the back door.

Just make sure you don't gamble away all your money before you get to Viet Nam - otherwise you will have nothing to spend on whores.

This old man envys you.

But, seriously, you need to get off your ass and do a bit of research on your own. Google away--its nice to get the inside dirt and all from people who have been there, but you need to do a little of your own legwork.

Otherwise, how will you know whether people are telling you the "truth?"

We look forward to your trip report!

Nassau, Bahamas - Lots of vacationing tourists...get laid while you're here and save poker for later.

La Guaira, Venezuela - Beautiful locals...get laid again, double up on poker at the next stop.

Salvador, Brazil - Even better looking locals here...get laid one more time and get ready for a marathon poker session at your next stop.

Cape Town, South Africa - There were a couple of South African girls in a class I took in college. I'd have totally hit that.

Mombasa, Kenya - When are you going to be in Kenya again?

Chennai, India - Ever see Bend It Like Beckham? You should try and look up some Punjabis....they were hot.

Yangon, Myanmar - I understand a lot of Germans go on vacation here. I used to know this girl who might have been German that was a total slut. I guess poker could wait one more stop.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - Two words: Sideways Vagina.

Hong Kong - I guess you could play some poker here. On a whore's ass.

Kobe, Japan - By now the only thing that should keep you from poker is something particularly nasty that no girl at home would ever do. Hellllooooo Japan.

Honolulu, Hawaii - I'll bet there are a couple of girls left on the boat that are starting to get really worried they'll finish the trip without getting laid. Have a heart.

San Diego, CA - I hear Ocean's Eleven is pretty decent.

Wow, this trip sounds fantastic. And itsmarty's post, while hilarious, does speak to an underlying truth...this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip, take advantage of it to experience what's unique about these places. There's plenty of casinos and poker here at home.

Obtw...while you didn't specifically say so, I infer from the itinerary and the name of the program that you're going to/from these places by ship. The time to play cards is while you're at sea. It'll probably be a very low-stakes game, but you might be surprised by how much you can rack up if you get a regular $5-10 buy-in NLHE game going. And since this what people see on TV so much, even otherwise-non-poker-playing folks will probably readily buy in, just for something to do underway.
