Mandalay Bay
this poker room is a gift from the heavens.
they're only spreading 2 games right now: 4-8 hold'em and $200 min/max NL Hold'em. The games are as soft as any game can be. My GF sat down at the NL game and easily raked in a grand in about 3 hours...one hand, she's got pocket AA, raises, gets four callers....flop comes AQx and two people are already all in ahead of her! One guy had QQ, so not that bad, but the other guy - the guy who CALLED the first all-in - had 33! Ridiculous. The 4-8 game had mini-blinds ($1-$2) and was a half-kill game. I've never sat at such a loose-passive game in my life. In three hours, I was the only one who did any raising. People would call me down with as little as 3rd pair. I didn't get many great starting hands, so it wasn't like I was running over the table, but I did decide to play the kill pots very aggressively (most of the table would fold if a kill pot was raised preflop) and ended up taking down some huge pots that way. Finished the night up over $400 in only three hours. It was a goldmine. I'm going back tonight.

I agree. Last time I was in Vegas I spent about half my time playing at Mandalay Bay. Pretty soft games. And the cocktail waitresses aren't bad either...
One night I won $300 at the 4/8 game. A young couple came to the tables, and the husband sat down to play. He was a typical fish, but took the time to explain the game to his wife since she had never played before. After about twenty minutes of watching, she decides to grab an empty seat and buy in for $200. It was great. I think they probably sent $150 my way, but I was talking with them the whole time and they didn't seem to mind. You definitely get a lot of rich people that don't care about the money at all.

Yeah the games are good, you know man you would think that online games have more fish but these people that play in live games are just whorible. I never play online anymore. If you get a chance mgm just got a poker room really nice and bad players.

Whether I won or lost the other day is irrelevant to how loose-passive the limit game was and how fishy the NL game was. But thanks for your concern.

Having played at Mandalay Bay, I can say that there are a fair amount of tourists who are used to betting a lot in the casino games and carry that over to poker. However, in regard to the NL game mentioned by Dominic, at Mandalay Bay they have a "four of a kind" bonus, which can get really high. Perhaps that player who went all in with the threes was weighing how pissed off he'd be if runner/runner 3's came and he missed out on what could have been several hundred dollars. Kind of risky considering the flop, but it could have been worth it to him, and not quite as fishy and stupid as you first made it sound. I won the bonus with four 5's when I was there, and it was $569.00.
Also, I don't particularly think it's fishy for someone to call all in with a set of Queen's.....
