Re: Rap lyrics that people need to stop quoting constantly

that business man line is tight. [/ QUOTE ] OK, I admit the first time I heard it I thought it was nice. But that song is so horribly overplayed, and so many people that I know say it or make other reference to it like having in their AIM profiles, naming fantasy football teams after it, etc. that I want to puke every time I hear it now. |

[ QUOTE ] wave your hands in the air wave 'em like you just don't care [/ QUOTE ] that ended with the last kid n play movie, welcome to 10 years ago [/ QUOTE ] im sure it's even older than that. i just googled in quotes "wave your hands in the air" and got over 16,000 hits on that. just seems like one of the most over used lines in rap's short history. i cringe when i hear it. using it may be one of the most uncreative things a rapper can do. they need filler on their single and they dont need to pay royalties, i suspect, to repeat this line 5x over since it's probably public domain. BAM that takes up a minute of time. print. it's a record. bwana |

Re: Rap lyrics that people need to stop quoting constantly
Hijack- this thread got me thinking about how many times the show "murder she wrote" has been referenced in rap songs. Offhand I can think of that Eminem song, Lil' Kim in "all about the benjamins", and that dancehall-sounding song "murder she wrote".
Kind of funny considering the show has been off the air for like 15 years and its target audience was 80 year old women. |
