It broke pretty clean so it should glue back together alright. Oh well.

A friend broke it. He just splashed the pot. Nothing you'd have a second thought over. It was weird.

Damn, there are cheap counterfeits on the market already? Was there a metal slug inside to make it weigh more?

I agree.
Either that or for some reason it was damaged/stressed in shipping, but didn't actually break until later.
