Default A $120 surprise for me from Party Poker

Okay I usually play sit n go's and when blackjack came out on party I messed with it for 2 days (first day won about 1k second day gave back 300 of it) I then proceeded to delete it from my computer realizing it would get me into trouble. Well I haven't played it since and I received this email from party with $120 deposited into my account from them:

Dear XXXX,

Thanks for playing at our Blackjack tables over the past few weeks!

We really appreciate it so we’ve given you 120 USD as a small token of our thanks. And there’s more good news - the money is already waiting in your account.

Thank you once again for giving Blackjack a shot between Poker games. We hope you go on enjoying both Blackjack and Poker at PartyPoker.com

Sincerely,
The PartyPoker.com Team

So to summarize, they realize that you have a gambling problem since you played a -EV game and wagered quite a bit. They know they will get this "gift" back tenfold in the long run.

Exactly and that is why it is removed from my computer and I can no longer play it(yes I used to bet football and play black jack a lot in the casinos but finally the game of poker that is not all luck). I realize betting football and blackjack do require skill but can not be won in the long run unless counting cards, shaving points etc.. Thank god for poker I no longer gamble (if that makes any sense).

You're an addict... just make sure you recognize that.

Maybe but haven't placed a football bet in two years (don't count the WSOP trip/Katrina donation survival pool I spent 20 bucks on at cardplayer.com and black jack in several years which is why I deleted it. So maybe used to be an addict and now more focused on lower limit poker $33's.

You never stop being an addict, you just learn how to control (or avoid) it. You are doing awesome and I congradulate you.

Isn't a gambling addict someone who cant control his/her gambling habits?

Thats what I thought..People throw words around so loosely and it makes them look stupid

You can be an alcoholic even if you haven't drank for 10 years (atleast according to A.A.) so I assume the same is true for gambling.

I think that you are not an addict like some suggest here. A gambling addict is someone that is addicted to loosing. You have not lost. You got lucky, tried to repeat but lost 300, and went home a winner at a game that is not very beatable. Nice hand. Spend the 125 well.
