Default Flop top set, best way to maximize gain?

5/10 6 person table on abso. I open in the MP with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Slightly laggy TAG 3 bets from the CO. Semi fish with stats I'd guess around 30/10 caps from the button. Blinds fold, I call, 3 to the flop, CO calls. 3 to the flop.

Flop comes 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I bet, CO raises, Button 3 bets. Gimme a line to get the max value. Is it a clear cap and lead here?

what I actually did: I called, hoping that CO would cap, then hoping CO would bet again so that I could C/R the turn.

I would cap and lead, looks like you're against 2 overpairs?

i like a smooth call, check/3-bet the turn

if you cap now one of them pretty much has to have AA to get in three bets on the turn

i think it's a lot of hoping to hope the CO caps and then you can c/r the turn. I'm not saying it's bizarrely improbable, but it is a parlay nonetheless.

I prefer cap-lead because the action on the turn might be bet-call-raise-3bet.

I don't get what you're saying here. if we don't cap the flop we get at least two bets in on the turn like 100.7% of the time.

what i am saying is even if we cap the flop given the texture of the board (flush draw) and the two aggressive players raising (you and CO) i think you capping will not cause a reduction in turn bets. So why not grab a few more?

but it's also 3.45am and i'm sleepy.
