One Year Ago...
I was losing 40 and 60 every other week at the local indian casino playing 1/2 with the theory: "they're dumb, im smart, i can play any 2 suited and just raise them and ill win money"
I had just deposited 50 into party not knowing anything about poker
Just got SSHE for christmas from another 2+2er and he introduced me to the site

Today
Read thoroughly SSH once and reread/skimmed it about 3-5 times, read (not thorough enough though i think) TOP and HEFAP
I have since logged about 25k hands at .5/1 and 22k of that in 6m since party started those tables
Whored lots of money, but cash out too much, but i still have a decent br for 1/2
Keep taking shots at 1/2 and am getting killed for some reason, i think its cuz of my scared fps play

One Year from now
Hope to be comfortable at 3/6 6m
Thoroughly read TOP and HEFAP
Keep more money in my br so its easier to take shots at higher lvls

A year ago:

Was playing 3/6 full ring. Then 10+1 SNGs. NL25, 50 in Feb thru April.

Now:
I'm playing 3/6 6m trying to learn how to get out of my 100bb downswing and continued running poorly. I <3 rakeback.

Neat idea.

One year ago ...
Hmmmm, I had never played HE and barely heard of it. I didn't even know the hand rankings.

Six months ago ...
Started with play money NL online.
Read SSHE and HFAP.
Deposited $80 online and played micro NL.
Learned about fluctuations, but I never lost my initial roll.

Today ...
Bankrolled for 2/4 6-max and play a few hours a day.
Own 21 poker books (mostly 2+2 ones). Have read cover to cover 17 of them.
Trying to post as much as I can on here.
Bought PT and PokerAce HUD so I can pwnz.

One year from now ...
Hope to be playing 30/60 or above and have big enough cajones to move to the MHSH forum.

Don't plan to go pro, since I've already just about finished my PhD and have decent jobs ahead of me, but it's a great hobby.

These threads are so fun!

One year ago today I...
... was trying to figure out how to play poker on the 2c/4c tables on Stars.
... was weak-tight. And when I say "weak-tight", I'm not kidding.
... was unmarried.

Since then, I...
... have built my roll and game up to 1/2 6-max, with another shot at 2/4 coming soon.
... have learned the art of the razor-thin value bet.
... have learned what 'tilt' means and how it can contribute to a losing/break-even stretch.
... got married.

Played in 10 dollar home games with highschool friends.

Had heard about online poker from a friend but never had a credit card so I thought it was impossible for me.

Never knew how to play to game.

Today I am playing 1/2 6-max hopefully moving up to 2/4 6-max over my winter break.

One year ago:

1.I was playing every single night for 5-6 hours 1/2(6 max.
2. Had a $ 2700 bankroll

Today:

1. I've finally made the jump to 10/20 (6 max)
2. First month I go over $10k in winnings
3. Have saved quite a bit, bought a car and still have a healthy 1000 BB bankroll for 10/20

Next year:

1.I would like to relearn full ring and move up to the Party 30 game

2. Make $120 k and set up a business

One year ago today, I...

-played a few $5 and $10 NL home games with my dorm mates
-had signed up for 2+2 the week before
-found out people actually play this game on the internet FOR REAL MONEY!!
-did not know that there was a 'limit' texas hold'em

One Year Later I...

-turned 19 (in Jan) and decided I wanted to try this online and started bonus whoring
-went to the casino a few times, and decided I liked this 'limit' hold'em
-have moved through the levels, and am currently playing 5/10 6m with a 500BB roll, and have made over double that which has helped pay for school

One Year From Now...

-Hopefully 15/30 or 30/60 making 6 figures a year while in college

One Year Ago Today, I...
- Was playing .5/1 full
- Thought I knew how to play MTTs
- Was afraid of shorthanded play
- Didn't bonus whore or use RB programs
- was a student

Since then, I have...
- accumulated a roll for 2/4SH which I am now playing
- read HOH v1-2 and realised what a weak-tight MTT player i was; best cash - $2100 for a $22 in
- Love shorthanded play, realising it is more lucrative and more fun than full ring grinding
- Rarely play now without clearing a bonus or getting RB. At least, bonuses will be on the agenda till 5/10 minimum.
- Become a social anthropologist, whose dissertation was probably the 4th ever SA paper on poker

In One Year, I Hope To...
- be playing 5/10 SH with a view to learning 10/20 SH/full
- start playing $200+15 MTTs, not $20 ones
- understand what limit to begin applying HEFAP concepts
- be the rake

- know what the living hell i should be doing after i graduate (in June!!)

Called down because I thought QKA23 was a straight

[/ QUOTE ]

Damn, i went to a one-off cash game in 2000 and their house rules were QKA23 etc. counted. I was surprised, but said nothing.

2 hours later, I'd busted them all out hahahahhaahahahahahaa
