Default Did I play this hand right on any street?

Live 100 person, $100 buy-in tournament. Start with T2500, I doubled up on 3rd hand with nut-flush vs. second nut flush.

Blinds move RAPIDLY in these live casino tournaments, so I'm trying to use my stack to pick up some extra blinds.

50-100 blinds, I pick up K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in MP and I open raise to 300. Small blind (right around original stack of 2.5k) minraises to 500. BB folds, I call. 1100 in the pot.

Flop Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Villian leads for 200. I call.

Turn Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Check. Check.

River 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

He bets 1k. I call.

Looking back, his hand screams mid-PP to me. He min-raised pre-flop, then threw out a tiny probe bet on the flop. He checked the turn, scared of overs if he has a PP. I should have been all-in on the turn with my pair + flush draw. I don't like my play on ANY street except MAYBE the flop, flame away.

I guess your best spot to win this hand is to raise him on the flop. The flop bet of 200 seems like a continuation bet off of his min-re raise preflop. I don't think he bets just 200 if he had top pair...probably he's looking to check-raise or make a better value bet. I raise in that spot and try to take it down.

I don't like stealing with K9s from MP unless the table is unusally tight. I don't mind the preflop call after you raised, because of image purposes. I don't mind the flop call either. However, Villain has either successfully bluffed me or beaten me on the river, cause I'm not calling that 1000 chip bet.

Raise his flop bet and be done if called and you don't improve.

You are the PF raiser, make him think you have a hand.

I think you have to raise the flop. Villain is unlikely to have a Q, since the pot is getting swollen, I'd just put him all-in: Sossman style.

After you call the probe bet and the turn arrives, its not credible for you to have the Q, villain will call you down with hands that beat you, but you may have the best hand. I think a value bet is in order (1/3 the pot).

At the river I think villain would expect to get to a showdown with AK or such without betting. T1000 is a big bet after such passive play. I'd fold.

Pre-flop: I don't mind the blind steal if you're raising because of who is in the blinds and not because you have K9s. It's one of those situations where you decide before the hand is even dealt that you're going to raise to steal the blinds if it's folded to you regardless of your cards. When he mini-raises you've got odds to call so that's easy.

Flop: Not a bad flop for you with middle pair and backdoor straight and flush draws. I don't know what to call his meager bet. Sometimes I see people make small bets to intice you to raise on a steal and they pop you back. Other times I see people make a small bet in hopes that you will somehow fold despite incredible odds. You have two choices. You can just push the flop (it's not an overbet given the pot and his stack size). Or you can call with the intent of raising the turn depending upon his action. Both are pretty strong moves but you might not have any folding equity on the turn if he makes any sizable bet - even if he just has two overs (AK) or a hand like TT. So I'm inclined to push the flop.

Turn: You've got to bet the turn. Now his flop bet looks pretty weak with a check on the turn and a couple of draws. Even if he had trip Qs he should make some type of bet here. Go ahead and push the turn.

River: You're getting 2.5 to 1 odds which means you don't have to be correct that often to make a call the right decision. You might have the best hand with your 9s. I think if you push he'll only call you with hands your behind. So, I'd call.
