Default 20-40 Live Hand. First post

Good live 20-40 game. The table is certainly not tight. UTG is solid, but tricky player. UTG +1 is loose/weak.

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
5 calls, 1 fold, Button calls, SB completes, Hero raises, all call

Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (8 players)
Hero Bets, UTG calls, UTG +1 calls, UTG +2 folds, MP1 calls, 3 folds

Turn: Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero Bets, UTG Raises, UTG +1 3 bets, MP1 folds, Hero calls, UTG calls

River: 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero ???

Bet? Checkraise? Check/call?

With 8 way action do you prefer not to raise PF from BB? Do you Cap the turn?

Many thanks!

Good bet out if you think someone after you is likely to raise, letting you three-bet. If you're behind to a set, two pair or a flopped flush, you still have a good number of outs.

With this many callers, you're likely looking at a flopped flush or trip queens at least here, so I wouldn't bet out, but simply call if it comes back to you closing the action for one bet..

With the action seen on the turn, I think it's likely UTG has AQ/o or pocket eights for the full, so you want to see a showdown as cheapy as possible, and really, what can you put the rest of the field on?

If the players at your table tend to draw to the river regularly, you might not raise PF with an offsuit AK from that position, but you're not losing money doing it. You have to raise AK/s for value. On the turn, you might be drawing to as few as 2 outs (or only 1 out for a tie), or 7 if someone has already flopped the flush. Assuming tight and reasonable UTG raising you, you probably should have him at least on AQ or QK, or AA/QQ/88 (though he'd raise the first two wouldn't he?). I doubt you're getting any value in this situation from raising.

bet because you likely made the best hand on the river and will get paid off by a smaller flush and possibly trip queens. call a raise because the pot is huge.

you played every other street fine.

Bet the river. I think you've got the best hand here. You're more likely to be up against QJ or Q10 than AQ with the two pre-flop limpers.

fwiw...
Hero Bet the river. UTG folded QJo face up and UTG +1 called with 10[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and mhig.

I appreciate the responses. I wasn't sure if I was stupid for betting the Turn and the River.
