Default Worst Invention Ever

A question that came up today that I thought was worth some thought. Disregarding anything that would be worst due to the fact that it kills or physically harms people, what would you say is the worst invention for mankind, as in what would we be better off had it never been invented?

After thinking a little bit, I was able to come up with my own answer, but am curious to see what others say first, and if anyone comes up with the same answer.

In my opinion, nuclear weapons are such a threat to everyone, the harm that could be done to the world with little effort and time is amazing.

It's cliche, I know, but thats my answer

I am under the assumtion that in your rush to make someone look like a fool, the fact that the value of the structures and the cities, the economic effects, etc that could be caused by a weapon of such distrution, aside frmo the life loss, would be horrible?

I didn't make you look like a fool, you did. I merely pointed it out.

Until the day comes when the world is actually blown up, nuclear weapons have actually come through pretty well for us as a whole. Would you prefer a constant state of war over a majority of the planet?
