Default My First MTT win --- Three key hands (Little long)

OK, so it was only the $11 Party 99 player max tourney, but it still feels pretty good. Anyway, I've been mainly lurking and what I have learned on here has truly helped me up to this point. Here are three key hands that I's like a different perspective on. And no, I can't get any converter to work either.

Hand #1
Down to about 20 top 10 pay average stack about T7,000. Villian was playing well, never showing down bad hands, but never trying to make much of a play on anyone either.

#Game No : 3216580347

NL Texas Hold'em Trny:18355212 Level:10 Blinds (300/600) - Saturday, December 17, 13:14:39 EDT 2005

Seat 9: Button ( $11527 )
Seat 10: SB ( $4770 )
Seat 2: UTG ( $2990 )
Trny:18355212 Level:10
Blinds (300/600)
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to Hero in BB [ Jd Kc ]
4 folds
Button calls [600].
SB calls [300].

** Dealing Turn ** [ Kd ]
SB [900].
Hero raises [2000].
Button calls [2000].
SB is all-In [3270]
Hero folds.
cloudyday111 folds.

I just know Villian has a 7 and reluctently lay this down. I have no idea what the Button has. Should I just call the initial river bet, or was the raise ok?

Hand #2

Final Table - 7 left

** Dealing Turn ** [ 7h ]

** Dealing River ** [ Qh ]

I know this seems very weak tight, but I hate to run into someone trying to get tricky with an Ace, and with my current chip stack am willing to win a small pot. This seem ok?

Hand #3

#Game No : 3216844044
***** Hand History for Game 3216844044 *****
NL Texas Hold'em Trny:18355212 Level:13 Blinds (750/1500) - Saturday, December 17, 14:15:38 EDT 2005
Table Multi-Table(542823) Table #1 (Real Money)
Seat 10 is the button
Total number of players : 5

Seat 6: BB ( $12188 )
Seat 8: Hero UTG ( $14179 )
Seat 9: CO ( $35320 )
Seat 10: Button ( $28355 )
Trny:18355212 Level:13
Blinds (750/1500)
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to Hero [ 9s 9c ]
Hero UTG raises [3600].
1 Fold
CO calls [3600].
SB folds
BB calls [2100].
** Dealing Flop ** [ 4h, 2h, 5d ]
BB is all-In [8588]
Hero is all-In [10579]

This looked all the world like a flush draw to me, and the CO had been really lagging it up with his big stack, so there is a good chance he is calling either way. Am I far enough ahead to make this call, or do I fold hoping CO busts him?

Thanks for reading.

Congratulations! You've now done better than 75% of all other MTT'ers! Now it's time to shoot for the top 20% and up from there. Good luck! Have fun!

**grunching**

Hand 1: Raise preflop, limps signify extreme weakness at this level of blinds; you would like to win this pot right now. After he bets 900 on the turn I think you have to push or fold. He doesn't have to have a 7 here after he pushes all in; if he calls you hes pot-stuck and has no chips left so he might as well push if he's calling. You have to call the last 1300 after you raise it up. I can't believe the button called 2000 and folded for the last 1300, what a terrible player.

Hand 2: Bet bet bet. Raise to more than 2x preflop, bet the flop. If he calls you can check behind on flop and if he checks to you on the river I would value bet the pair of kings. The river check is bad on your part but not horrible, he's probably not calling without a pair of aces, and he would probably be betting if he paired before the river. IMO you have to bet *something* because he hasn't played the hand like he has an ace. If he's extremely passive then a check is probably in order.

Hand 3: Risky call for almost all your chips, but its probably a good one. I'm partially biased by your subject line; since I know you won the tourney I'm assuming you beat him on this hand. Hard to put villian on a hand other than overcards, overpair lower than yours, or a flush draw. Sucks if he has a set though....you need some kind of read to make this call.

Congrats on the win.

It's true, I feel bad criticizing when I've still haven't made a FT yet.

I've been playing limit cash games, just got back into tourneys. It's hard to find a continuous 3-5 hours in college sometimes to do a MTT.

I know the Button is calling (which he didn't) and see no way I can beat both hands, so I don't see a need to put in any extra chips no matter the odds. As you can tell I'm reverting back to my comfy weak tight zone.

I'm not really referring to odds....to him theres no reason to just flat call you, and you bet thinking you had the best hand. His "raise" doesn't signify any particular strength...how can you be *positive* he has a 7 here??? Your bet size is the main issue here IMO. You've made a hard decision based for yourself since his all-in gives you no information to the strength of his hand.

If this hand were head's up, I would completely agree with you, but I think the fact that there is a player yet to act who has me covered changes the situation quite a bit, so that's why the T2,000 raise. The fact that the Button cold calls only adds to the confusion after the raise.
