Default Loose Table, I check

Both players are fairly loose, I dont expect a flop bet will win the pot.

Party Poker 3.00/6.00 Hold'em (6 handed) link

Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
1 folds, MP calls, CO calls, Hero raises, 1 folds, BB calls, MP calls, 1 folds.

Flop: (7.33 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, MP checks, Hero checks.

Turn: (3.67 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, MP bets, Hero calls, BB calls.

River: (6.67 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)

Final Pot: 8.67 BB.

I would bet the flop for value, and probably raise the river.

If you dont bet the flop, you lose value and are less likely to get a freecard on the turn.

There are spots to check the flop vs loose players that call to many flop bets, but this is not one of them.

1. You bet to protect your hand: You will be in front your fair share of the time. If they have rags (draws to weak pairs, or runner-runner draws) they may fold to your bet.

2. You bet for value: If they call with rags anyway, you get value, just from you high card strength. You also get a lot of value from you flush/over cards draw.

3. The majority of the times you will get a free card to the river.

And I would probably raise the river. He could have many different hands here that he will pay you of with.

Trent.

1. This is a pretty scarry board. I think you may be underestimating your chances to get them to fold.
2. Bet for the value.
3. Even if you don't get the pot with a flop bet, folding one guy out is pretty cool too.

For everyone who was advocating it, how mandatory is a river raise?

You might not get a loose BB overcall from a pair of 4's and you open yourself to a possible 3-bet.
