well, you didnt flop the nuts, but you had to assume you had the best hand on the flop. i would've checked this flop for 2 reasons (a) if your opponent checks behind you, you have a better idea as to the strength of his hand and you can take a little sigh of relief ( i dont think he would check a hand better than yours after you check). then, i'd make a good sized bet after the turn no matter what card hit, and it might look like your trying to steal the pot, but you'd really be hoping for a reraise. and (b) if your opponent bets after you check the flop, then you re raise. this is very confusing play and your opponent would really have something to think about with a flop like that.

if he checked after you checked, i'd bet the turn, no matter what hit, and if i was raised i'd re raise. i'd be willing to get all my money in at this point (although i wouldnt raise all in right away because i'd want a cal here).

after the river, i'd probably bet a real big amount - still trying to put out that i am trying to steal this pot by backing up my turn bet. this would be an oversized bet to put a big, fat ??? in my opponent's head. hopefully he'd have some kind of hand by the end and call.

so basically in my opinoin you shouldve check the flop and bet the turn, rather than the opposite. but, hey, you still won the pot!!

how does the drama post get lots of feedback and i get the most singularly idiotic post in the world, and thats it

lines on bad turns seem like an important part of this game....geez

I think you're still ahead on the turn. I don't play the 5/10, but I can't see a solid player smoothcalling with two pair or a set on such a draw flop. A lot of players will raise a flush draw there, especially since most flush draws have at least a gutshot as well.

I'd say bet out 90, and if he raises, you can think about laying it down. I think you're slowing down a bit too soon.

thank you, thats what i thought afterward but that turn is just so damn scary

do you think a bet will induce a bluff?

for instance, this player had KhJd

if i bet hes at least calling, and the pots so big he might be tempted to put a play on me when i check the river

just some thoughts i had

Probably not but that depends on your opponent. Bet the pot on the turn...If he calls and the river blanks value bet again (probably less than pot). If you do decide to check the river, call any bet he makes.
