First post
Hi all. I'm a relatively new player to Hold'em. I only learnt to play 7-8 months ago. Even then, I only played at some 5$ buyin games with my friends. About two months ago, I started playing NLHE at UB. The site choice was on recommendation from a friend of mine who felt I would get a higher level of competition there. Starting off with about $10, i'm up to about $210. I started playing at the 1c/2c limits, and I moved up to 5c/10c around $150 or so. I've been doing well, having had only 1 serious losing day in all the time I've played. I'm looking forward to contributing to this forum in any way I can, and I appreciate any advice given to me in this or any future post.
Right, so instead of a question, I shall give away some more background info on me. I'm a 21 year old college student studying in Pittsburgh, PA. Summers are usually spent working in California, near where my home is. I'm always looking to meet players near me (or even far I suppose). Thanks for your thoughts. Re: First post + a general question
[ QUOTE ]
I've noticed from watching my friend play high limit 7card stud, or from posts on this forum that decent sized downswings are likely to occur. I was wondering at what limits of NL would you consider this likely to happen. [/ QUOTE ] This will happen at all limits to all players, regardless of their skill level. Downswings are inevitable in poker, because it's a game of small edges. That's why it's important to be adequately bankrolled for whatever limit that you're playing. |

Re: First post + a general question
You're right, on second thought (I really should do this more often), I withdraw this stupid question.

Re: First post
my piece of advice, if you don't understand something, don't be afraid to ask
sure you'll get flamed by like 5 people, but someone else will actually answer it |

Re: First post
There are no stupid questions--only stupid people.
