Re: KQ not suited - You have no idea just how powerful I am
My guess is Kx of some kind, but I feel lost.
What were the results? |

[ QUOTE ] If an unknown player smooth calls on that flop when you make a big bet, wouldn't you give them credit for something that beats KQ? [/ QUOTE ] why not take a free card/induce a bluff if you're always beaten when your flop underbet is called? [/ QUOTE ] agreed, check through on turn and call river. |

Oh, haha, found it.
I raised to 104 on the river and he called and showed AJ for the nut straight. |

if you fold this river and make a profit doing it, you should not be playing in those games

Re: KQ not suited - You have no idea just how powerful I am
"However, why is everyone getting so up in arms about my bet on the turn?"
This is my first no-limit post as I am a limit pro, but I read Greensteins book and he talks about making a bet on the turn to represent a minimal amount of strength so that you can fold to a raise. You say you would rather bet 32 and fold an not risk $50, but maybe the problem others have is that your bet is small and that its not only easier to call but might set you up for a move. That said, you think you got all the info you need to fold to a turn check-raise from this players flop call given the board and you knowledge of the player and his of you and such. I can see that too. Here is why I decided to check out NL...from my second time playing... Live NL hand I played while waiting for a limit game. KT free play BB. $10 in pot 3 players. Flop J high, checked around. Turn 9. Checked around. River Q. SB checks, I bet $10. Button raises all in $300. SB goes all-in $300. SB shows T8 and says nuts. Button has Jacks-up. |
