Default $1 to $20,000 bankroll

In the book, "Aces and Kings" the author inteviews Chris Ferguson, who, for a challenge, put a dollar into a poker account and tried to build it up. He got it to $20,000 in 6 months. I found $1.20 in my Paradise account and will try it to.

I was wondering if anyone had done, or heard of a big build up like this.

A few people have done this.

I won $5 for getting a royal flush on an UltimateBet play money table in my first couple of weeks playing poker. I turned that into a few hundred in a couple of months, then cashed out to play on softer sites. In my first year I won a bit more than $40k, though about half of that was from blackjack bonuses.

I turned 8$ into ~17,000 in a year and a few months. Almost all of that growth happened in the last 7 months. I had 350$ before I moved to limit.

He has the skill to play at (almost) any game/limit. So his ability to play is based solely on bankroll requirements / risk tolerance. This isn't as amazing as it looks.

I turned "79 cents"(my friend sat at a 10 cent 20 cent no limit table with me and dumped me like 10 bucks) into over $20,000, in less than 2 weeks. I know it seems hard to believe, but yes i did it, and yes i was really lucky.
I didn't really try to build my roll per se, it was more of a "i only have a dollar in this account lets see what i can do with it." I just played in nl games where i could just make the min buyin and got real fortunate until i got to around 2kish, then i played 5/10 nl regularly, and built it up from there.

P.S. i normally play 5/10 nl and sometimes higher, but just decided to freeroll that dollar instead of making another deposit on that site.

It doesn't seem remarkable to me in any way. Just a waste of time to play the 0.01/0.02 while you have the skill to beat 100/200 games.

Is there a time limit on your attempt? Are you allowed to go broke even once?

That being said, good luck.
