Default Final hand

Cross post from NL forum.

I play a NL home game in tournament format with 6 guys. Down to the final 2. I've got a ~4000 to ~2500 chip lead. Blinds are 150/300.

Opponent is aggressive/tricky player, currently playing a bit loose.

I'm dealt Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. He raises to 600. I call.

Flop is J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. He bets 400, I raise to 800. He calls.

Turn is J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. He checks. I go all-in.

Was this the right play? If not, how bad was it to make a stand on the OESD? I'm totally confused as to why I made this play, other than I felt commited to the pot.

Thanks for the comments.

Results (in white): He quickly called and turned up J3o. We both stood and sweated the river. River comes K! I heard about how lucky I was for the next 2 days.
