Default New Giants/Jets Statium , over a $1 Billion

link

Both teams are putting up most of the money and it seems like they picked the final location to be in the meadowlands.
This is the first NFL stadium to cost over a Billion dollars.

It's impressive that the owners are paying for most of it when in most cases the cities/states taxpayers have to pay.

NJ refused to allow the stadium to be built if the citizens had to pay it. Also the Xanadu project was a factor.

the land value alone must be higher than any other area in the country. The Texans stadium, Reliant Stadium was around $700 million in cost. The owner Bob Mcnair pretty much paid for all of it upfront then made is money back with PSL contracts for each seat. I think the new 2009 cowboys stadium will be around 900 million. The meadowlands stadium seems likes it really needs to be replaced. Will this new stadium have a retractable roof?

To my understanding does not have a retractable roof. The current stadium is not that bad and it holds 78,000, they most likely did not need a new one now, but since everyone other team is getting a new one...

Yea, that deal fell through. It's also one of the main reasons NYC didn't get the 2012 Olympics. The Yankees and Mets are also getting new stadiums in the next 5-10 years.
I wonder how the Xanadu complex will have an impact on the revenue in the area. That's being built for 1.3 Billion I think.

Giants Stadium is the OLDEST stadium (w/o being renovated) in the NFL.

was it renovated in the mid 90s?, I thought part of what they added was over a 100 lux-boxes. Is Arrowhead stadium older?
