overbet time? 5/10 6-max

5-10 5 handed, I have $1050, villain covers me. I've seen villain call w/ a draw, then overbet the turn w/ the draw (not hit yet). I also saw him bet 2/3 pot on legitamate hands.

1 limper, I have 9To in SB and complete, villain in BB checks.

Flop ($30) 278r. I check (I wanted to keep the pot small until I could hit as my bets were being called and I was playing some calling station-esque players). BB checks, Button bets $30. I decide to call as I may stop and go any card if BB folds. BB check-raises to $80, Button folds, I call. The BB check-raising makes me suspect he has a monster, at least 2 pair.

Turn ($220). Q putting 2 to a flush out there. I check, villain bets $150. I decide that he'll pay me off if I hit cause he probably has a very good hand. I need to make about ~$400ish more on the river to make a call here correct. I make the dubious call.

River ($520). Jh completing a backdoor flush board. Hero pushes for ~$810...

The over bet is good because it is likely you did not hit a backdoor flush, the only problem with this situation is the villain has to put you on a draw and unless he sees you as a player who bluffs to much then maybe he will call but the overbet could look like a bluff to him which would work out great. I personally would try to sell my hand on the riverbut either bet is not a bad one.

Because the push looks like alot of different hands (alot which bett0r beats) and a C/R doesnt.

I felt that he could possibly fold to a check-raise (although not likely), especially if he bets $200ish range. I also thought that this had a good chance of being called (pretty sure he had a set 22,77,88), especially because this player was more of a calling station than anything else.

Plus, if he did have a hand like 2-pair, then he could check behind there cause that card is scary - whereas he may call a huge bet if he thinks I'm bluffing.

Actually, it is a leak in my game that I rarely check-raise the river - so people usually don't have to be afraid of it. I may work on that. This would have been a good spot to do it against a different player I think.

i don't think the overbet gets called with a possible flush out there and you calling each street until the river. a bet of 200 to 250 would be better IMO

For me to call that turn bet, I need to either check-raise the river or bet much more than 200-250 and expect to be called a vast majority of the time. Betting 200-250 is the worst option... This will only work if I think he will raise the river, which is very unlikely with the backdoor flush appearing.
