Zero 7 - In the Waiting Line. In Garden State when Andrew is getting high/partying with his friends. A really fitting song for the mood of this scene/montage.

I hate to make my first post a negative one, but do you guys know what a montage is?

I feel like I could take on the entire Cobra Kai dojo every time I hear that song.

Couldn't agree more. I think this one's definitely a strong contender.

My favorite is that scene in Malcolm X - Where near the end he's on his way to the speech where's he's gonna die and they're playing Sam Cooke's "A Change is Gonna Come" in the background.

By far the best movie montage is in SCARFACE in the segment where the song "Push it to the Limit" is playing as Tony Montona and his gang rob banks, sell cocaine, and then count tons of dough in their safe house.

Not far behind would be the montage in BLOW to ELO's Blinded by the Light. This segment happens right after Depp meets EL Pedrino (Pablo Escobar) and they decide to go into business. He starts out by saying something along the lines of "Cocaine was introduced to the American public..." at which point the scene is narrated and then just still photos flash of Depp's character meeting a bunch of 70s movie stars/music stars and doing tons of coke.

Break the Ice, during one of the Rad montages. It could have been the paper delivering one, or the final helltrack race. Both good, great song.

Please post nominations for the best song playing over a montage scene in a movie. Some examples include the song "Fight To Survive" by Stan Bush in the "Bloodsport" montage, the song "Gonna Fly Now" by Bill Conti in the "Rocky" training montage, and the song "You're The Best" by Joe Esposito in the "Karate Kid" tournament montage.
