Default Value bet with two pair/trips or block bet with a pair of jacks?

No good read on villian, but the table is pretty tight.

Hero folds?

The table is pretty tight. You got check raised on the flop. A bad card for your hand fell on the turn.

I really can't see villian playing a hand you beat like this apart from a total bluff.

I minraise here... In part for a potentially free river... and in part because if he has something nice like AJ or a set, he will likely push to the minraise. For some reason, people think if they really like their hand, and they get raised, they should just cut the shenanigans and push because it's all going in there anyways. Which is precisely NOT the case against players who raise for information.

If he comes over the top with a push, I'd fold, knowing that in the long run, I will take a lot of money from this fool when I do the exact same play with a set.

Or, I'd just fold. Calling bets at a tight table is the best possible way to lose money that I've found so far in poker.

Do you make a lot of continuation bets? The flop action feels a little fishy to me. I think he might be putting a play on you.

What are you basing this on?

Wow, great thoughts I'll keep this in mind.

But in this hand I think I'd fold.

I don't think villian is making a play. I think it helps that they're UTG though in putting them on a range of hands.
AJ seems very likely. Given no read I would fold disgruntled.
The only hand villain would play this way that you beat is KJ. Betting half the pot on the turn to make sure you weren't value raising something like AK or AQ on the flop.
Probably a good fold in the long run.

Minraise so he will be scared of AA, right?

What about a minraise after his reraise after the flop?

I often do continuation bets, but I don't play so many hands, so I don't think he have such a great read on me and will do a move on me.

I placed him on AJ and folded.
