Default Did I play this set correctly?

Looking back at this hand (which was fun to play at the time) I think I blundered on the flop. Considering the coordinated board, my raise probably should have been much larger, right? What do people think of my line? How big should the flop raise have been (size of the pot?)? What about just calling on the turn when the good card comes? Should I have raised while there were hands that might still be drawing? If so, how much?

Thanks.

You bet nearly the pot, that's fine, an overbet here wouldn't be terrible, but you filled up so it should have worked out.

It looks like you already have this figured out. You want to play trips fast on a scary board so a pot sized raise would be fine. After the turn, you should put in some type of lame raise in case someone is drawing, just give them good odds so they will call.

Yeah, the hand turned out well; just wanted to make sure that I was playing sound fundementals as I am trying to take the game more seriously. Don't want to bank on the second 8 every time.

Any thoughts on the turn call? Should I have raised there?

Raise more on flop, raise turn. Don't slowplay sets on very coordinated boards.

Yeah, I would raise some on the turn, but not too much that they won't call. Raise enough to line your own pocket a little in case they miss and ditch on the river. Although, I could be wrong... because I'm not so sure you would have gotten two all ins in front of you if you showed strength on the turn as well. But, I definitely like the raise on the flop for 2 reasons:
1. You make the draws pay
2. Most people feel inclined to check a flopped set, so it is well concealed

Me too. Except I'd only call the turn with the monster and position on the river.

I take your point about not slow-playing a set on a coordinated board. I think I should have raised a little more on the flop. By the turn, however, I have a boat. Is there still a need to raise it up there?

What if they miss their draws on the river? Checking a made hand is not ALWAYS the correct play.
