If you guys have all heard of X number of people getting their accounts frozen on prima for reasons you deem insufficient, then why dont you all just stop playing on prima. Seems pretty simple to me...

this primarily affects the very high stakes players

diablo,

the reasons are always told to the people. whether they are happy with it or not is irrelevant, and whatever spin they choose to put on it when whining is also irrelevant. the funds were gained by fraud.

here is the email that the dane posted on rgp. seems like a pretty solid reason to seize funds if you ask me. also, i don't have to tell you of all people how poor of a business decison it would be to be engaged in this systematic corporate theft they are accused of. the 'hole' will return much more to them than stealing player funds for no reason.

> >Hi There Morten and Rebecca,
> >
> >I apologise for the delay and thank you for your patience.
> >I have received final word from Prima Poker and your account is to remain
> >locked.
> >The funds that you received were brought into the network and passed to
>you
> >fraudulently.
> >There will be now reversal of this decision and you will remain
>permanently
> >locked out of the network.
> >
> >I hope this can finally bring some closure to this issue.
> >
> >Kind regards
> >

Granny, I was on your side until this, this note is pathetic, their entire account came from fraudulent means? How? There is nothing specific here. This is pathetic.

You are correct that some sites (more often casinos than poker rooms, but some poker rooms too) ask for documentation like this. The part that puzzles me is why they wouldn't just state up front that they will need to see these docs before the first cashout a player makes? It's the freezing of the account that's alarming. Of course, I can't say for sure that there isn't a legitimate reason for the freeze here, but it does seem that a lot of grief on both ends could be saved if they explicitly posted their policies on this stuff.

Also, I can certainly understand Prima doing an investigation when there's a "bad money" incident, but it does seem like the players who happened to be up against the
bad guy shouldn't lose any winnings unless it's evident that they were involved in the foul play. Also, in cases like the 60k incident, how are they justified in confiscating the
53k that is not alleged to be bad money?

Finally, I believe it is the responsibity of the site to safeguard themselves from scammers with stolen credit cards, etc. If such a thing does happen, the losses the site incurs should not be laid off on their legitimate players. If I play against someone who's playing with bad money (and I'm in no way colluding with him), if I happen to win, I should keep my winnings. I put my money at risk in good faith, and it's not as if they'd give me a refund if I happened to lose at that table.

I don't play for anything approaching the stakes that the 60k player does, so this isn't that likely to be an issue for me personally, but I think all of us would feel more comfortable with Prima if they were more open about what their policies are and promptly gave appropriate information to the parties involved when they plan to take action.

Edit: I just noticed that the most recent post in this thread before mine was 2 months ago, yet it was on the first page of threads. I just want to make it clear that I didn't bump this thread out of nowhere. I don't know who did or why, but it isn't my intent to revive a dead conversation.
