Default Bay 101 and GC (or other Bay Area cardrooms) low limit question

I'm gonna be visiting my friend in Menlo Park for New Year's, and we'll hit up a casino on Friday night - probably Bay 101 or Garden City. Anyway, my roll (and willingness to lose money) is too small to play $6/$12, no matter how soft, so taking both rake and quality of play into consideration, where will I find the better $3/$6 and $4/$8 games?

Or, if there's somewhere else nearby with better games at those limits that I don't know about, chime in

Wherever I end up going, I'm tall and skinny and will likely wear my Giants jersey (#29), so say hi if you see me.

EDIT: As long as I'm at it, I see a lot of posts saying that just about any game you can find at low limits is incredibly soft (i.e. the "what's the softest game you know of?" post in which someone responded "any game in Vegas below $20/$40") - but I assume to the better players on this site, these games certainly appear that way when there's actually a big difference between them. I mean, when you go play $9/$18 at the Bellagio, there aren't really donks showing down J6o in seven-way pots all the time, right? Or are these games really all exactly like the $2/$4 donkfest at Chumash? Cause when people say "really bad players" or "really soft game" that's what I think of.

I can't comment on the low limits, but in general, I hope you get there early, as you will probably have a very difficult time getting a seat in a low limit game at either of these clubs on the Friday night of a holiday weekend. These games will be full by 3 pm or earlier, and the lists will be very, very long. Hell, the games fill up by 3:00 on a regular Friday, so this Friday they may be full by noon.

Good luck wherever you play.

Don't know about GC, but Bay101 does not spread 4/8. The 6/12 and 8/16 games at Bay101 are soft, but are also popular (ie. long lists). I have never played the 3/6 there, but the list almost always seems to be fairly short as they usually have many 3/6s running.

Yep. I was at Bay 101 last Friday. Got there just before noon, and there was a 40 minute wait for 6/12, and longer for 8/16. 3/6 moved faster, but it was still a decent wait. If you want to play 2/4 at Bay 101, I think they usually have a table going, too. No 4/8. Good luck.

There's no 4/8 at either Bay 101 or GC. I haven't played the 3/6 at either place in years, but I'm sure it's still the same or better than before. This means at least one maniac at every table. This means you'll start seeing 5-way capped pots by the time the clock hits 2 AM. This means everyone at the table will be Asian, mostly Vietnamese, and many of them tipsy. And all of this makes for a spectacular game. You won't win too many pots, but the pots you do win will be huge.

Bay 101 is by far nicer looking than GC, so I would recommend going there.
