Default NL200 Flush push

Longtime lurker, first time poster... Please be kind!

NL200 @ Party

Villian: Decent player. He has done anything to shock me. Only been at the table for about 30 minutes but I had only seen him play from the blinds, button and CO. Him raising from UTG+1 made me think high pair, AK or AQs.

UTG+1: $220 (Villian)
UTG+2: $350
SB: $175
BB: $150 (Hero)

Villian opens for $6
UTG2 calls
SB calls
Hero calls w/A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Flop: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (Pot=$24)
SB checks, Hero checks, Villian bets $25, 2 folds, Hero pushes all-in for $142.

I see it as a push or fold situation. Villian bet pot so I put him on an overpair or a set of 9's. He likes his hand and doesn't want to give anyone the odds to draw.

So...

1) Good push? I hate calling here because if my flush does come then I won't get paid for hitting it. With my push, it pretty much tells him that I at least have the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] or possibly a made flush / low set.

2) Do you call in his situation with an overpair or a set?

Before I put my all my chips at risk on a draw, I always ask myself "how much am i willing to lose?". If the answer is everything, I would at least give myself a chance to outplay the other person. I would of minraised him to $50 and see what he did. If you miss on the turn and he bet, then well, i guess you have to push since you were willing to risk it after the flop anyway.

lead, 3 bet allin. Its alot more natural.

Your line is good as lon as you do with with sets and made flushes and top 2. It works better though on 2 flsuh card boards. I do it alot with sets and flush draws, good for the image

Given stack sizes I think checkraise is better.

Hero leads for 15, villan makes it 65, hero push 100 more. 10 times better.

Disagree, villain is too committed.

Hero only has 150 to start with.

Is this really a good call preflop given the range you put him on?

Not 10 times better. Hero isnt looking for a call, he makes his money when the villan folds. C/r line gets this done better than 3 bet. The 3 bet commits the villan w/ the stack sizes.

Still a fold pf.

No. It was a fairly loose call looking back at it. I made the odd call like this sometimes because I know that I'm perfectly fine laying down a pair of aces. I'd need 2 pair or better to continue post flop.
