You'd be surprised about the tv thing. Sometimes in high school, we'd all be standing outside a classroom thinking it was locked, then finally the tardee bell rings, the teacher walks up and just merely opens the door and asks why are you guys just standing out in the hall? Sometimes people are just dumb.

Another good example of this is when faced with waiting for an elevator, particularly one where the call button doesn't light up. You can have a good eight people standing in front of the elevator, clearly waiting for it, yet the ninth one will come up and push the button.

a fun little experiment most psychology classes do is put a sign on a park bench that says DRY PAINT. It's amusing to see how many people look at the sign aand then have to touch the bench to make sure it's dry.

this sounds like a good trick to do if you have nothing better to do. go wait by an elevator but don't push the button. other people will come and wait behind you and the elevator will never come because the button will never have been pushed. haha
