i don't think anyone should be so stubborn in their ways that their mind could not be changed somehow.

the reason there are different Christian denominations is because some people are persuaded by fear, others by compassion, etc....there were 12 apostles, you know, but only one founded the Catholic church (though some protestants claim Peter as their own). they all spread out, had different ways of teaching/persuading, but were successful nonetheless.

and for abortion, isn't "Roe" from Roe v. Wade now pro life?

Guns: ever heard of the "Brady Bill"? Brady was a hardcore conservative before being shot, you know.
