Default My Favorite Socialist

A correction from the Dallas Morning News:

"In Wednesday's Metro section, Norma Adams-Wade's column incorrectly called Mary Ann-Thompson-Frenk a socialist. She is a socialite."

Default Re: My Favorite Socialist,

In the 1990's when I worked in talk Radio in Minneapolis, we had Myron Orfield - a Minnesota State Senator - he was advocating some stuff that Jesse Ventura didn't like, so he called Myron a communist on the show. Remember the time period - Jesse was not the Governor at the time, but the MORNING HOST - so he called him a communist over public airwaves.

a week later, we were giving Myron airtime, copies of previous shows...anything he wanted -

seems the lawyers got together with the program director and said there is legal precedent for suing a person who calls you a Communist (at least on the public airwaves) - and since Myron was a card carrying member of the Democratic Party, the label was inaccurate and KSTP AM 1500 bent over backwards like they had just insulted the pope - LOL.

gotta be careful who you call a communist - apparently, there's legal precedent that's not even there if you call someone a Nazi. -

Not that there's anything wrong with laws that keep Conservatives from engaging in the standard tactics of lies, slander, deception, and libel.
