Default Teasers good plays?

I just did a 4 pick teaser (6 points) on the overs and on the Steelers and Rams at 3/1. I am a newbie at sportsbetting - is this an OK bet or did I just fall for a stupid gimick?

Generally picking 4 teams in a teaser is not a good bet. even getting the 6 points per team. because even if you increase your chances of covering each game to 70%, you are still only going to hit all of them 24% of the time.

Now, doing a two team teaser on the steelers/rams would have been a lot better. you would cross 2 key numbers with the steelers and the 7, 10, (and if you found a 7.5) 13.

The Bookie's Creed

If you want to bet the spread, give me a call.
If you want to bet a parlay, I'll call you.
If you want to bet a teaser, I'll send a limo.
