Default Mandalay Bay 1-5: How I stole $84 from Clarkmeister

This hand is mostly just a story although the third, fourth, and sixth street plays could be debated.

Clarkmeister and I were at a 1-5 stud table while waiting to get into a hold'em game. Our names were #1 and #2 on the waiting list when my name got called. I told Clarkmeister, who was sitting on my immediate left, to take the hold'em seat ahead of me since he doesn't like stud very much. He picked up his chips and headed to the new game. The dealer dealt out the next hand. Note that if I had left for the hold'em game, Clarkmeister would have been dealt my hand.

The third street boards are:

(x,x)2c
(x,x)6h
(x,x)7d
(x,x)As
(x,x)9c
(x,x)5s
(Qd,4d)Qh

The 2c brought it in for $1. The 6h folded. The 7d called. The As called. This opponent plays very aggressively- usually by betting $5 with any made hand. The 9c and 5s folded. I called. Four players see fourth street.

The fourth street boards are:

(x,x)2c,Jd
(x,x)7d,Th
(x,x)As,2s
(Qd,4d)Qh,Kc

The As2s bet $3. I called. The 2c folded. The 7d called. Three players see 5th street.

The fifth street board are:

(x,x)7d,Th,4c
(x,x)As,2s,9d
(Qd,4d)Qh,Kc,Kd

I bet $5 with my two-pair. The 7dTh4c folds. The As2s9d calls. Heads-up to 6th street.

The sixth street boards are:

(x,x)As,2s,9d,6s
(Qd,4d)Qh,Kc,Kd,Kh

I bet $3 with my full-house. My lone opponent raises me to $8 while saying "Let's see what he's got". I call.

I bet $5 without looking at my river card. My opponent calls.

I turn over my intial two hole cards and show my Kings-full of Queens. I turn over my seventh card and it's the Ks for runner-runner-runner-runner Quads. Obviously, my hand is good.

Mandalay Bay gives out bonuses for four-of-a-kind or better. Quad Kings was worth $84 in addition to the pot.

I joyfully taunt Clarkmeister about the Quads I stole from him.

Nice post Dynasty. One of the funnier one's I've read on here lately. You just might get subject line of the year.

Just out of curiosity, if it isn't too personal, are you and Clarkmeister related?

No. We aren't related. It's just a strange coincidence.

If you ever saw the two of us next to each other you wouldn't ask that question.

I assumed it was a coincidence until I read this post. It was the kind of ribbing you usually hear from brothers.

One of these days I'm going to get around to visiting Vegas. Hopefully I'll be able to meet you guys and see just what you mean.

Until then, I'll have to use my imagination.
