Both of these hands were the first ones I played at each table.

In this hand I had already read BB to be very loose and passive.

Bet turn in hand 1, the 5 doesnt change anybody's hand. You need to raise the flop in hand 2. Why on earth did you just call?

To blind steal, it was folded around to you in the CO, and you have an ace.

Alot of 2+2ers raise any 2 here. We have a good chance of picking up the blinds, and if not sometimes a flop bet will take the pot heads up. Having an ace in your hand makes it even better.

Obviously if you know the people behind you are loose you shouldn't do this, but it's usually +EV against unknowns, especially at slightly higher limits.

And even if the blinds don't fold, the button probably will (or at least probably should), improving your position.
