Was I a jerk? (strange story)
Flop comes down. 3 players. I'm on the button. The cards are not really important (but I flopped the nut flush draw).
Player to my left goes all in for $68. Next player CALLS. Just calls, he says specifically. Thing is, he has $73. His call leaves him with $5. Now I'm a bit confused. I think he's trying to be cute or something. I have him covered so I just say "all in", making him put his $5 chip in. He sighs and starts to MUCK HIS HAND! Everyone at the table freaks out. "You're goint to muck your hand for $5?" I couldn't believe it myself. He whines "I don't wanna call. I've mucked aces before." I'm thinking, all righty, fine by me. But the table doesn't let up and he calls. In the end, I hit the nut flush and win. I told him I wasn't trying to be a jerk and was confused. He says it's fine. Then he complains to the player next to him about how I made him put in his last 5 dollars. But then he takes out another hundred dollars and starts playing again. Strange. |

i wouldn't have even told him he should stay. Beginners like that deserve mistakes like that, that's how they learn.
