Recently, I played a hand at a very jovial table where I checkraised the flop and then led-bet the turn and river. On the river, nobody called me. The whole table was watching me as I turned in my cards, in the off chance that I might give a free peek. I firmly place my cards face down on the felt and slide them to the dealer, saying to the table: "gee, I wonder what she had?" Most of the table bust out laughing.

"You're an idiot."

"You have to be sh*tting me."

"Weird how the nuts held up."

Wow, I'm not alone in being annoyed by that phrase. I heard it said last night when I lost a big pot, and I wanted to throw my card-weight at the guy. I'm still fuming this morning (great session though, overall).

I like to play like a 'gentleman', but it's good to know saying this might give somebody who's teetering a push into full-blown tilt. One can't have too many arrows in the quiver.

Another quote that comes to mind when ever someone beats someone by the narrowest of margins or if the pot is chopped with the same hand:

"You play that s-h-i-t/garbage/crap?!"
