Default expert play vs LAG?

opponent is terrible LAG. he 3-bet a 734 flop with K5 vs me after I had raised PF, and raised on the flop and there was a coldcaller

I open K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] on the button, he calls HU in the BB

flop 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

he checkraises me and I 3-bet, he calls.

turn 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

check check

river 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

he bets, I call

I don't think you get the free river card enough versus a LAG to 3-bet the flop.

I don't like playing draws very aggressively against LAGs since I figure I'll end up paying even more too often.

i wasnt really going for a free card. my pot equity is huge on the flop, given that I usually have 15 outs and sometimes have the best hand. I also have position

my plan was to bet the turn. the board pair made me change me mind.

OK I like the 3-bet better when you follow up with a turn bet. You think the paired board makes him more likely to bluff/semi-bluff checkraise?

This is fairly standard for me. Sometimes I call the flop checkraise and raise the turn but I think that's stupid against a LAG like this, you have to call the 3-bet and you could still have the best hand but calling the river would be horrible. So, perfect.

The thing is, this player is going to bet the river close to 100% of the time, regardless of what he has. So it doesn't make much difference whether the one bet goes in when you bet turn and check river or check turn and call river, but this induces bluffs more and avoids checkraises on the turn which potentially make you fold the best hand on the river and either way make you pay 2 bets for your flush draw. Also it lets you raise the river when you hit and maybe he'll have something and 3-bet or bluff 3-bet.
