KQo against a 2+2er
sup homies,
opponent in this hand is 2+2, which meant more to me at the time than my PT read of 16/9/2.3. EDIT: by 2+2er I mean posts in the strategy forums. (or could - dont want to slight astro, ElD, etc.) I know he's 2+2, and I assume he thinks I'm TAG. I didnt know this at the time, but his read on me after 170ish hands was that I am a maniac. therefore, he probably doesn't know that I know he's a 2+2er. how'd we do here? what does he have? Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2+2er is CO with XX Hero raises, 5 folds, CO (2+2er)/ 3-bets, 3 folds, Hero calls. Re: KQo against a 2+2er
I'll guess he had Aces or Kings.
Even if he thought you were a loon that board looks pretty crappy for anything else. Though he might have paid off with AK; anything's possible against a maniac. |

Re: KQo against a 2+2er
I think that's your best bet against most of his possible holdings.

Re: KQo against a 2+2er
Postflop it looks good to me. Preflop I dont raise with KQ off UTG at all, but thats another subject I suppose. Man you have to hate your hand when you get 3-bet by a 2+2er preflop. Even if his read is "possible maniac" on you he still likely has you dominated or well beat.

[/ QUOTE ] There was nothing "possible" about the read given in the OP. Even so - I think possible still opens up CO's raising standards here quite a bit. Having any good player peg you as a maniac is a HUGE advantage over that opponent. I'd put CO on a small pocket pair. Nice hand - I like the turn bet setting him up for a 3-bet. |

Re: KQo against a 2+2er
Nice hand.
I think the hand range is tough but if he really thought you were a maniac at the time then I'm sure you won but his range is pretty big including mid/small pocket pairs IMO. Maybe KK or AA got scared on this board. Maybe AT. Hard to say. Since you didn't know he thought that at the time your play IMO is good. If you knew that he thought you were a maniac you'd be better off fastplaying the flop. |

Re: KQo against a 2+2er
yeah it was definitely check fold unimproved on the flop, my hand didnt really compare to his three betting range that well.

Re: KQo against a 2+2er
at the time I put him on the standard AA-TT AK maybe AQs, but in retrospect given his read, his range could have been wider. good point.
