How sweet it is...
This was about hand # 80 in the session. BB and Cutoff have been with me for about 50 hands. They had a line on my play and as yet I hadn't deviated from the TAG line.
The previous 15-20 hands though, these guys were giving me some heat when I'd raise preflop and if the flop looked like it'd missed my 'type' of starting cards. I was getting bit peeved and then... don't raise preflop. [/ QUOTE ] I like the raise preflop. There was a discussion on this about a month ago and I believe I was in the minority opinion. Why I like to raise here: 1) You have position. 2) Your hand is going to be better than 1 in 6 to win, unless someone has your suit covered. In that scenario, the chances of you hitting a flush are less, so it's less likely to cost bets. 3) It adds a bit of deception. You cannot always raise big cards. This might be a slightly negative ev (I'm not conceding that yet) play on this hand for a positive ev overall image. 4) It gets out blind hands like K6 and such that might hit a better 2-pair. |

don't raise preflop. [/ QUOTE ] Query. Given hero's table history/image and analysis, doesn't raising further disguise his hand here, which is obviously easy to get away from postflop? |

Re: How sweet it is...
Good job flopping the nuts. How did you do that? Is it in a book somewhere? Also, way to send the two biggest LAG-fish at the table packing.

[/ QUOTE ] I think raising the flop was pretty much the point here. He wanted to change his table image and he was willing to pay two SB to do it. |
