VILLIAN: calls 20

anonymous5: folds

HERO: raises 60 to 80

(my thought process is that this is the first hand in a low buy-in tournament. Just 3x the BB will likely be called by more players than I'd like. But I don't want to raise too large and create a pot I'm incapable of getting away from. I went with 4x the BB in this spot, although I'm not adverse to making it 100 in this spot either. There's only been one limper, so I just have to worry about him and the blinds, and I'll have position on them post-flop. If there were more potential players I'd likely raise larger, perhaps in the 120-150 range if there are a gazillion limpers. First hand, so no reads)

All others fold

Villian calls 60.

POT=210 CHIPS

FLOP: Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Villian checks

Hero: ????

Please explain your line here, check or bet. The amount if betting and why, etc.

I lead out with a bet of $150. Kills pot odds for the straight, but if player has hit the straight, you'll know and can let go. If the villian has an OESD, you don't want them getting another card for free.

If you check, let's say, and a 3 comes, your decision is still just as hard as the last betting round, as he could be trapping you. With no reads on the first hand, this play is risky. You have a monster, but it may not be the nuts.

Sidenote: I'd like to predict we'll see some sort of straight flush draw in this hand.

betting 150 sounds good. way too many draws to check.

Bet 150. If he raises, push. If he's on AJ, turn the fourth Queen.

160 is a good bet, denies draws etc etc. I dont like 150 here for a couple of reasons, especially cause this is PS.

160 is the same as betting 150. Care to elaborate why you think it's different without invoking numerology?

2/3-3/4 pot looks right. anywhere from 150-200 should be fine.
