Default Loading HTML code from an external file

I would like to create a website without frames. I would like to have a header and left navigation area loaded from a 2 external files. I looked around the web for info and found something called PHP. Anyone have an example of web site set up loke this?

This is very easy to do using includes in PHP. tutorial

also google "server side includes"

very old school but will do the trick without scripting and is a web hosting feature usually included at lower tiered pricing than scripting.

I need to move to a differenct web host, geocities do not support php. any cheap good ones out there??
