Default Party 10/20 NL: Seemingly simple hand, what\'s the turn play?

10 handed Party 10/20 NL
3 folds. MP1 limps ($987). MP2 raises to 65 ($2034). MP3 folds. I call A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in the CO ($2067). Button folds. SB calls ($1121). BB folds. MP1 calls.

Flop: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players, pot: $280)
Check, Check, Check, I bet $200. SB calls, other 2 fold.

Turn: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players, pot: $680)
SB checks. He has $856 behind.

Was my flop bet good? FWIW, the other 2 opponents on the flop are solid regularls, but I don't think that's very relevant. What's my play on the turn? I don't know the opponent. He's been playing for about 20 minutes and hasn't done anything out of the ordinary to attract my attention.

allin works, though you're easily outkicked or behind something else or something.

wawb but you can't let him draw out on you.

betting him all-in makes your life much easier than betting 2/3 behind. basically you are going to show this one down...

I dont like the original call. A10 is not good there with a raise in front of you. Here its a check or a push depending on your read. Beting 2/3 of the pot is not good. Id push but i suspect he might have set a trap.

If you are going to bet here, then don't push. IMO it looks fishy and you won't get a better hand to fold. You can bet $600 which accomplishes the same thing w/o the suspicious 'feel' to it. BUT..I don't see anything wrong with checking here. There's 4way action to the flop and right now, the only thing you beat is a draw. You also have a gutshot. Villian likely has you outkicked or is slowplaying a much better hand (set, 2p) with his short stack. I check behind and reevaluate on the river (checking behind on a brick there also..not a time to value bet against a short stack). I don't like putting 1/2 my stack in the middle with top pair no kicker just cuz the board has some draws to it.

the original call is fine. It's 3% of his stack, he has a hand that is hitting to the nuts and with MPs dumb raise after a limper you can pretty much be assured it will be multiway once he calls.

Of course SB is not folding a better hand. You want it to look fishy, so that he'll feel obliged to call w/a weaker ace. A push here is better than a 2/3 pot bet. both commits you anyway...

What ace is that? A7? A5? I doubt he holds a weaker ace. Our hand is not strong enough so that we want our play to look fishy and get called. If we get called we are very likely beat.

I bet 400 and fold to a push.

I like your flop bet. The problem now is the stack size of the SB. I put SB on either a flush draw or an A with a questionable kicker and a push here puts him to the decision.
