Just my worst today, is this a joke?? This guy calls all of my raises with a freaking 8 HIGH Pre-flop, and then with a GUTSHOT straight draw? Did I play it correctly?

[/ QUOTE ]

That is really not unusual at all. Thankfully so.

EDIT: relaized it was limit but he was still correct to call.
look up pot odds, $6.5 in the pot on the flop and u raise it to $1? When its his turn it costs him another $.50 to call for a pot of $11, immeadiate pot odds of 22 to 1. Hes got 4 outs for a straight and additional 6 outs for a set or boat, he had correct odds to call you on the flop. So no, he played it right. Not very consoling ...oh well...

Yes he should have so totally hacked into the software so he could make a larger than maximum bet in a limit hold em game. Great point.

Oh, to the OP: don't get any ideas and start posting crap like this in ML.

Yes you played it correctly, your biggest mistake was posting this crybaby bad beat post. Now let's examine your "bad beat".

Preflop the guy played rags and coldcalled your raise. However, that was the only mistake he made, albeit a big one. But after that, and this is as basic as poker knowledge gets, he was getting correct odds to chase a gutshot all the way, so your bitching about that is wrong. Let's review.

Preflop there was 9 dollars in the pot.

On the flop after your raise it was 1 dollar to the eventual winner in a 10.50 pot. Thus, since you try to sound like you always play perfectly in your post, you can see that he was getting precisely 10.5 to 1 immediate odds (IE the point where a gutshot is profitable (On second thought with the rake it was 10-1, however the initial flop bettor will def call here so his implied odds were AT THE VERY LEAST 10.5 to 1). I won't even get into how through the roof his implied odds were considering how many .5-1 players will cold call a raise on the flop.

On the turn there are 14 bucks in the pot (possibly thirteen due to the rake) After your bet it's 14-15 to one pot odds to him. He correctly called and hit his gutshot on the river.

So, how bad is your beat after all?? Sure, your opponent made one ridiculously bad call preflop but he wasn't the only one. If you fold gutshots in pots that are 9 big bets preflop you'll lose PILES of cash. Additionally, if you keep making bad beat posts that really are bad beats you'll get flamed, let alone ones where your opponents postflop decisions were all correct.

Good luck, read SSHE,

Matt

you are a [censored] tool. I hate reading stuff like this after a bad session. If you think that is bad you are in for it if you continue to play, just wait till you are running bad, ive taken 3 beats as bad or worse than that in an hour before, so STFU NOOB!
