Default 910s flops bottom two but sick board...

Villain in this hand was TAG (17/7.3/7) but that was only after 40 hands so take it for what it's worth. I'm particularly interested in the flop and turn action. Should I have raised or folded somewhere? I will post my (flawed ) reasoning on each street a bit later so as to not contaminate anything. Thanks in advance.

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

Flop: (5 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB bets, MP1 calls, Hero calls, CO calls, SB folds.

Turn: (4.50 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)

River: (6.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 6.50 BB

You gotta raise that flop.

The way it played out, I'm wondering what people think of a river bet (I kinda like the idea -- doesn't have to work that often...).

Flop call = bad move. Don't pretend this is a 'wait until the turn' situation. The pot is too small and your relative position too close.

Yeah this was kind of what I had suspected- the pot was too small for this play. By relative position you mean my position relative to the raiser correct?

(Note to self: STOP assuming I will always get sucked out on. Force people to pay for draws, even if the board is dangerous. Saving a bet by not raising on the flop with a marginal hand so I can "safely" fold when a scary turn card comes is NOT good poker).

As an aside, if the pot were substantially larger (say 14 or 15 sb) would it have been the correct move?

Clarkmeister's Theorem only applies when out of position.

I don't think he ever folds here with a made straight on the board.
