Re: crying call?
Does this rule about ~obligatory crying call in big pots only apply to heads up? If I am against more than one player, a raising war can break out between the two other players and I end up calling 4BB which must often be -EV. |

[/ QUOTE ] It's hard to imagine where a crying call can be correct against more than one player no matter what the action is. Even if you're only calling a single bet, overcalling is probably wrong if you feel you're very likely beat. Additionally, calling a bet with possible overcallers behind would also be incorrect if you feel you're very likely beat. Regards, T |

Re: crying call?
There is a good post by Ed Miller on this subject worth reading but for the life of me I cant remember the title.
I have recently started calling people down a lot more in big pots and am surprised by some of the hands I see. There have been pots when I am sure I am behind but end up beating absolute rubbish. It does seem to increase my variance but I am only saying this out of a general impression rather than with any stats to back it up. |
