Bad Beat Jackpot Poll

I was playing the bad beat jackpot tables at party the last couple days and this situation came up. I kinda had to go to the bathroom and asked my buddy, who also plays cards, to play for me while I went. This was not that uncommon and never a big deal. After I got back I asked what would have happened if he had hit the bad beat jackpot with a solid hand like AA or what not. What does my friend deserve? Another quick note is that if he was unable to play for me then I would have finished my session and then went to the bathroom after I was done, aka I would not have stopped playing before I would have hit it. Also the jackpot was over 500k so the loserers share was a little more than 200k.

i think he deserves half.. how long were you out? each hand should be random based on time?? i think? so just with the difference of when he clicked call or check, the badbeat occured because of him.

I don't think he's entitled to anything. If he were to play for you and win $20 while you were in the bathroom, you wouldn't give him any of that, would you?

At the same time, I think it would be a very douchebagish move to not give him anything. Somewhere in the 5% area would be about right. If you won 200k, that would be 10k, not enough to hurt you, but enough to make him very happy.

50%, since if it wasn't for him you would've been forced to sit out. You put him in the right place at the right time, he allowed you to win it.

I'm givin $5-10k. It wasn't his money, he was freerolling. Hit or miss, he loses nothing, you actually have money on the line.
