Default Home Game Rand Ruling Question

In a 6 handed game the other night with all 6 people still in, I went all in before the flop. I had a king/deuece of clubs. 2 People called.
The flop was 2 clubs and an irrelevant card. The other 2 people checked.
The turn was a King, both checked again.
The river was a 3rd club on the board. One person bet, the other folded.
So I said what do you have? The guy who bet said, I've got Kings. I then said I've got Kings... I paused, but I've also got a deuce of clubs. Showing the King high club flush.
The guy who lost the hand then got mad because I didn't call the flush immediately. He thought he had split the pot.
He had thought that the pot should be split, because I said I had Kings, so therefore I have Kings. And not a flush.
I was always under the impression that the cards speak for themselves.
Granted, it could be viewed partly as a dick move on my part for not saying I had the flush right away. However, you can't exactly ignore the cards.

Can I get some feedback on this?

I mean, in a casino a dealer is having you place your cards on the table and then the best hand showing wins.

Could this be simply a house rule people use?

Any feedback is great.

Unless there's a house rule about "declare your hand" then cards should speak.

You're a donk for slowrolling

"partly"? No, it was definately a dick move, especially after you slow rolled before then with the "what do you have?" bullshit comment.

But he is wrong- it is cards-speak, no matter what you said.

However, don't pull that crap again- it's childish and stupid- that kind of move can only be pulled to punish habitual slow-rolling dicks.

The problem is that others can't ignore your dick move if you announced "kings" while knowing that you had the flush.

The question though is who wins.

You want feedback? Here is some feedback.

Yes it was a dick move, and I was always under the impression that making a dick move in a friendly home game is a great way to prevent getting invited back. If this happened at my game, I would give you the pot, and then kick you in the nuts. Then I would proceed to "not exactly" hear you whining like a girl.

If you are looking for approval, you will not find it here. Slowrolling is for asses.

Why were you all in with K2 suited? Secondly, as the host, I we play modified declaire. If its an obvious hand, i.e two pair with one on the board, there is little debate. But if you call kings and you have a flush, you have the kings. Its a eay to have people learn their hands and to call them. In my juristiction, you lose. (Since he obviously had to have a better kicker)
