56s flops OESD vs solid player - I blame lapoker - deep 5/10
MP is very solid and respects my play. he's a little tighter than me (maybe VP$IP 20/5PFR) and plays pretty much perfectly in raised pots from what i've seen, but he totally goes into check/fold mode in unraised pots unless he flops big. He has previously said something along the lines of "i dont know why you fight so hard for the $40 pots."
we've been sitting for 5 hours slaughtering UTG, UTG+3 (both timid and way too straightforward) and SB (flat out sucks) who are clearly the weak points in the game. SB has previously limped AA UTG and called down PSB's on a board of 774xx when i held 7To from the BB. before this hand i have been raising fairly frequently in LP. three limps, including MP (4K) to me on CO with 56s, I (cover) make it 65, blinds fold, MP calls. 7 8 K three suits, one of mine (160) MP leads for 150, I call 5 no flush draws (460) MP leads for 200, I call 9 (860) MP leads for 600, I think and make it 2K. He has 1.6K left behind if he calls. eh? fim |

Does he need AK or a set to bet the flop? If not, I probably raise.

results and a few thoughts
he called with 88 and then typed "you play bad". I agreed.
the reason i think this hand is interesting is that his hand is completely known and my hand is not likely to contain a 6. after his lay on all three streets, he knows that i know what he has, so the final net result is that i'm either making a move or i have a 6. he knows i wont even make this move with KK i'll be afriad of losing my stack to a 6 that he could hold (which is in his hand range after the turn VIA 96). so he has to make a judgement call whether i want to blow him off a set here because of a scary board when i hold something like 9T. so he will either call anything up to and including a push or he will call nothing more than a minraise. bottom line, i think this is a great place for a river overbet or aminraise. minraise called every time, river push will get called as often as $2K. basically i think i fusked this one up to the tune oe 1.4K a better player would have made. thoughts? fim |
