Default $55-- FPS or Donk calling off my stack

reads: villain is super loose, will bet given the oportunity

thoughts: check flop, keep pot small, hella scary flop.
Turn bet could be any 2 cards-- no chance he has the flush. i have open ended straight draw (6 outs+3 A's) i'l call- i have A high!
river bet is a WTF, is he blocking? the flush didn't come, can't put him on a real hand, i've been passive and let him do the betting-- he must have nothing, stupid donk.

I think stack sizes are important to look at here

You really think he has KJ or A5 that much on the river? He did call a raise pf, it's not some battle of the blind or limping hand. I can't see calling this river being right. I think the turn call is quite marginal as well. I don't know why he "can't have the flush" either.

His turn bet was a function of my flop check. He bets EVERYTIME u show weakness-- he hasn't been to any showdowns. on turn, i was gettin 3:1, vs a villain w/ a VERY WIDE RANGE w/ 9 outs. River bet left me totally baffled, why is he betting 225 into an ~775chip pot? Whenever i ask myslef this question, it's either a monster or a bluff, i can't figure out why he's doin it-- wreaks of a dark tunnel bet. Can't be a blockign bet, 'cuz nothing "got there." So either he has a monster or nothing-- agian i put the villain's range to be HUGE.

From my point of view this river call looks insane.

What do YOU put the villain on at the river? Is that bet not a, "desperation, don't call me" bet? He knows i have nothing. With a weak hand, with showdown value, he'd check. I feel 1/2 these donks at the $55's are playing with their cards face up. Of course he proceeds to berate me after i call on river-- that should tell u what he had.
But the point is vs bad LAGs, callin a river "missed, dark tunnel" bet is +EV.
Also, who makes what sized continuation bet on flop?

Are you serious? You called down almost 25% of your stack with A high! and not even the nut A high. If you want to test to see where he is, reraise the turn don't call. I would much rather put an extra 300 on the turn than 225 on the river.

You call on the river chasing an open ended straight draw or a pair of As when theres a good chance that 3 of your outs are counterfeit.

Sorry for the flame, but I can't see anyway to justify this play. There are better ways of keeping someone honest than by giving them chips. Even if you did have him beat I would never make this play.

i dislike the turn call and hate the river call. one reason the turn call is bad is that you don't have 9 outs - you have 9 possible outs, but more likely you have 6 outs (if villain holds a heart), and maybe 0.

on the river, you might be paying off his "bluff" with 33/AJ/AT/etc. blocking bets are not "monster or air." they're often something like A8 that want to get to a cheap showdown and want to squeeze a little value out.

I bet 3/4 on the flop. I raise the turn. I think I'm with you on the call on the river, but it's more marginal. Doing either of the other two plays gives you more information and avoids this situation.

Just because he'll bet a lot doesn't mean that he never has something. I too much prefer a turn raise to calling the turn and calling the river. As others have pointed out, his "bluff" can very well be beating you.

Personally, I would've cbet the flop. He's probably scared of it too, and it makes the rest of the hand a little easier to play.

The way the hand played out I can't imagine calling the river. You can't simply assume

and justify it to call down almost a quarter of your stack. I just don't see the reward outweighing the risk.
